An autobiography of Tara Bhadbhade, the memoir Light & Shade in Life’s Glade spans three centuries, tuning into the changing lives and culture of the women of a family across generations.

The author spent many years in the forests of western India and writes movingly about those days. In a nod to the title and the author’s bucolic memories, we used watercolour illustrations to elicit this ambience.

The pastoral theme runs through the book with illustrations of flora and fauna. Uncoated, dazzling white paper gives the book an organic feel.
